In the early 17th century, after a long period of attack and merger, the warring States period in Japan came to an end and entered the era of the Tokugawa shogunate. When peace came, it was replaced by a large number of samurai displaced and forced to make a living. During this period, some ronins asked for a caesarean section in front of dignitaries to save face, some were retained, and some received material support, but there was no lack of young people who blackmailed them. One day, the famous Jingyi family ushered in a young ronin named Qianyan begging for a daughter (acted the role of Ying Tai). In order to put an end to this evil wind, the Jingyi family really did a fake play, forcing Qianyan and its undignified way to die miserably. I thought this would deter the blackmailing wave people, but soon another middle-aged samurai named Jinyun Banshiro (Ishikawa Hai Lao Zang) came to beg for death. The film is based on Yasuhiko Takaguchi's novel the Romance, which was put on the screen by the famous craftsman Masaoki Kobayashi in 1962.
