Harry Brown (2009)

Harry Brown (Michael Kane Michael Caine), a retired Royal Navy officer in his 70s, lives alone in a small apartment near the slum after his wife dies. The nearby pedestrian tunnel is a place for street fights, drug trafficking and physical trading of gangsters. Old man Leonard (David Bradley David Bradley), a good friend who plays chess with Brown, is often harassed and even brutally killed by these gangs. Female police officer Frampton (Emily Mortimer Emily Mortimer) and subordinates are responsible for investigating the case, but have to release Leonard's killer because of lack of evidence. The old Brown couldn't stand it and decided to fight himself to get rid of gangsters and avenge Leonard. The film was nominated for Best British Picture, Best thriller and Best Actor (Michael Caine) by Imperial Film Magazine in 2010, and was nominated by the most groundbreaking British filmmaker (Daniel Barber Daniel Barber) of the London Film critics Association.
