In 1957, when a French actress (Emmanuel Liva) came to Hiroshima, Japan to shoot a film promoting peace, she met a local construction engineer (Eiji Okada). The two forgot their married and married identities in a short period of time, resulting in an selfless relationship. However, because of the particularity of the land of Hiroshima, when the two hugged each other passionately, the actress always flashed some cruel images of the war in her mind, and the construction engineer often reminded her of her love with a German occupying force in the small French city of Weir during the war. After filming, the entangled actress felt that the only thing she could do was to devote herself more to the construction engineer in the limited time.
