Adam (John Cusack John Cusack), who lives in Los Angeles, has just been dumped by his girlfriend, while his single nephew Jacob (Clark Duke Clark Duke) is addicted to video games and stays in his basement. Adam's old friend Nick (Craig Robinson Craig Robinson) is a "strict wife" and has a bad job, while another old friend, Lou (Rob Corddry Rob Corddry), drinks too much and attempts to commit suicide to the hospital. In order to enlighten Lou, Adam and Nick decided to invite Lou to revisit the Kodiak Valley Ski Resort, along with Jacob. The four stayed in the same hotel room and drank and sang in the hot tub on the patio. The next day I woke up with a hangover, only to find that they had unexpectedly returned to the 1980s. Worried about the disappearance of history, Jacob urged the three men to recall their historical actions and follow them, but the three old friends who suddenly found a second chance in life had their own ulterior motives. Can the damaged hot tub time machine be repaired? Will the future be messed up by changes in history?
