This film is based on real events. Hank Delfeld (Tommy Lee Jones Tommy Lee Jones), the father of Iraqi infantry Mike Delfield (Jonathan Tucker Jonathan Tucker), suddenly received the news that his son had disappeared after returning home one day. Veteran Hank drove to the barracks to conduct a personal investigation and learned a little about Mike's psychological trauma in Iraq from the images of his son's mobile phone. It wasn't long before the police found Mike killed and dismembered and burned. Hank's wife Joan (Susan Sarandon Susan Sarandon) is so saddened by the bad news that she can't help herself. Hank gets to know local agent Emily (Charlize Theron Charlize Theron) in the course of investigating the case, and the two establish a special friendship and get closer to the truth of the incident step by step. The film was nominated for Best Actor at the Academy Award (Tommy Lee Jones) and nominated for the Catholic Culture Award and the Golden Lion Award at the 64th Venice Film Festival.
