In 1975, in Philadelphia, the economy was depressed, and the Philadelphia Eagles in NFL also lacked fighting spirit, suffered successive defeats, and were frequently booed by Philadelphia fans in the stands, but this did not prevent Vince Papel (Mark Wahlberg) and a group of old friends from enjoying rugby, even though he was not proud of his own life-he had been semi-unemployed in recent years and his wife had recently left him. I can only make a living by working in a bar. The Eagles hired new coach Mork (Greg Kinnear) to turn the tide. Mork proposed to select new players all over Philadelphia. Vince, 30, no longer had unrealistic fantasies about life, but could not stand the encouragement of friends, especially bar owner cousin Jenny (Elizabeth Banks), to audition and become the only reserve player selected. The training life is extremely difficult, and it takes firm conviction to work with these well-developed players. Vince's self-doubt has been dispelled again and again by his friends, and he will finally find the dignity and hope of life for the city and himself.
