Io capitano (2023)

Saidu, a 16-year-old boy, lives with his beloved mother and sister. Life is hard in his hometown. Only when he plays music does he have light in his eyes. Egged on by his cousin, he concealed his mother and set out on a journey to the European continent with naive enthusiasm and cash saved by working secretly, believing that when he got there, he could show his musical talents and make his family live a better life. From Senegal to Libya, across the Sahara to the Mediterranean, this unknown journey, the human heart is more dangerous than the environment. Under the guidance of their ancestors, can they reach the other side of their dreams?
