North Korea is one of the most isolated countries in the world. For nearly 60 years, North Korea has been totalitarian in and out of almost all information in and out of the country. Two recent leaders have been feverishly worshipped: the first, Kim Il Sung, now his son, Kim Jong Il. On Kim Jong Il's 46th birthday, a grafted red begonia flower was named Kim Jong Il flower, symbolizing wisdom, love, justice and peace. The film is named after this noble flower and tells the unusual story of a large number of North Korean survivors of hidden prisoner-of-war camps. They now live in South Korea, where they were interviewed, and their experiences are embellished with North Korean film promotional materials and original footage, describing the daily life of a person being watched, and his every thought brings official punishment. This is a place without justice and peace. NC Heikin worked as a documentary director for the first time, and her dance and acting background influenced her torture of modern society and her search for recovery. Far from being a lengthy story, nor is it a simple accusation of government actions, Kim Jong Il is completely primitive and extreme to the limits that human beings can bear.
