After the head of the Yang Theatre Troupe in Shanghai, China, was shot and killed wearing a mask made by him, his son Yang Xiaolong was suspected by the police for having no alibi. Convinced that the eldest brother is innocent, Yang Xiaolong's sister Yang Leili (Mumi Mizugawa) wrote to Japan to ask Miyuki Higase (Tomosaka Riehui) and the famous detective Kaneda Ichichi (Takamoto) to take over the case. Kaneda didn't mean to ask, but she couldn't resist Yang Leili's beauty.
