Knuckle (2011)

Travelers living in Ireland and parts of the UK are a group of nomadic people who have their own traditions and have a deep sense of pride in being part of the family. Although intermarriage ties them together, in the event of a conflict, the only solution is to fight with red fists. Director Ian Palmer followed members of the traveler tribe for 12 years and learned the story of a decades-long family feud. At the center of this family conflict is James, a confident but stubborn supporter of Quinn McDonaghs, who is often challenged by his cousin Joyces. As an outsider, Palmer, after years of waiting, finally learned the reason why the two families hated each other. The movie knuckles will lead us into a cruel, secretive and competitive fighting life. The film tells the story of a long period of violent struggle among rival families. The story focuses on the hostility between the two brothers for family prestige and honor. The behind-the-scenes production of the documentary truly and clearly provides the audience with a primitive, barbaric world where the cycle of bloody violence is destined to never end.
