In 1817, the great French writer Stendhal came to Italy and indulged in the masterpieces of the Renaissance in Florence. One day, he went to the Holy Cross to visit the mausoleums of Michelangelo, Galileo and Machiavelli. as soon as he walked out of the church gate, he suddenly felt confused and his heart was beating violently, and he felt as if he was going to fall at every step. Doctors diagnosed that this was due to psychological excitement caused by frequent appreciation of art treasures, a rare condition caused by a strong sense of beauty, which has since been known as Stendhal syndrome. To this day, doctors in Florence still encounter patients with Stendhal syndrome from time to time, and some of them even have to stay in hospital for a few days. Most of them are art-loving and appreciative tourists, ambitious to sweep the art treasures of the central Renaissance city in a few days, only to be overwhelmed by the visual impact that followed. But Italians are 100% immune to Stendhal syndrome, and for them, the glory of the Renaissance is as ubiquitous as air, from infancy to twilight. Their lives have been filled with female police officers from Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Stendhal.
