Louis (Jean-Paul Belmondo Jean Paul Belmondo) is a very wealthy tobacco factory owner who buys a "mailing bride" from overseas. He doesn't know that the woman Julie (Catherine Deneuve Catherine Deneuve) who appears in front of him is so beautiful that he feels that Louis he has earned is quickly trapped in the love network compiled by Julie. With the passage of time, Louis gradually found that behind Julie, there were one difficult riddle after another, and he was not even sure whether the woman in front of him was really the woman he had decided to buy. Finally, Julie revealed her true face and took away Louis' property, but by this time Louis had already been fascinated by Julie, and he decided to follow her to the ends of the earth, no matter how hearty the other person was.
