During the French Revolution, the legendary knight-errant "Black Tulip" (Alan Delon) robbed the rich and helped the poor so that the aristocracy panicked every day. "Black Tulip" is masked to show people, the real identity is actually the Earl of Guillaume, asking for life for the people is actually for his own selfish desires. The chief of police set a trap to lure him to show up, stabbing him in the left face in the scuffle, leaving a scar, which became strong evidence of the capture of "black tulips" and a citywide manhunt. In order to avoid revealing his identity, the Earl of Guillaume had to find his twin brother Julian (Alan Delon) to take his place at the political conference. Julian disdained what his brother had done, so he stepped forward in the name of "black tulips" and fought with the people. But Julian was caught in a battle and was in a desperate situation. Count Guillaume finally found his conscience, but he gave his life to rescue, but unfortunately he was arrested. Just as the Earl of Guillaume was about to be executed, the Black Tulip reappeared, writing the heroic myth of the righteous.
