Laura (1944)
The film starts with the mysterious death investigation of Rona, the head of a successful and beautiful advertising agency. When investigating the relevant personnel, Detective Mike, who is in charge of this case, learned a lot about Rona's past from the mouth of columnist Huadu. Unwittingly, he had a lot of illusions about a portrait of Rona hanging in her home. Unexpectedly, Rona didn't die at all. One night, she suddenly appeared in front of Mike who was sleeping on the sofa. The body they found turned out to be someone else. The classic detective suspense film directed by Otto Preminger constitutes a wonderful black film through stylized narrative, compact atmosphere, black-and-white photography, and the wonderful performances of several major actors.
