Synopsis: the guests come to Senecher's house for a dinner, only to find that the dinner will not be held until tomorrow night. They had to go to a tavern, but their plans were thwarted again because the tavern was at a wake for their recently deceased shopkeeper. Another dinner was temporarily cancelled because the Seneciles snuck out of their home to make out, but the visitors mistakenly thought the police were going to attack and ran away. The next dinner was also interrupted because the trained troops unexpectedly showed up at the Senecia residence. Even nightmares feed their frustrated efforts to host a dinner party: they sit at the table in high spirits, only to find that the curtain around them suddenly rises, and they become performers sitting on the stage. On another occasion, the colonel insulted the so-called Republic of Miranda in the presence of Ambassador Don Raphael, which nearly led to a diplomatic disaster, not to mention the dinner that night. In this way, the six characters in the film (including Mr. and Mrs. Senecia and Ambassador Don Raphael) continue to sit down and eat, but there are always unexpected obstacles that prevent them from eating.
