Le trou (1960)

1947, French rehabilitation prison. When the prisoner Claude (Mark Michelle Marc Michel) first moved into cell 11, he was squeezed out by four other inmates, the cautious Manu (Philip Reeroy Philippe Leroy), the cunning Roland (Gene Claudy Jean Keraudy), the tough and strong Gio (Michael Constantine Michel Constantin) and the resourceful "Monsignor" (Raymond Munir Raymond Meunier). Soon, the polite Claude was recognized and accepted by the four people and asked him to join in a thrilling prison break that was being carefully planned. Jacques Baker's last film was shortlisted for the Palme d'Or at the 13th Cannes Film Festival in 1960 and won the best film of the French Film critics Association.
