In the dense and tranquil barn owl forest, the owl Nocteus lives on the branches of a towering tree with his wife and children. Her son Soren (voiced by Jim Sturgess Jim Sturgess) is obsessed with the legend of the Guardian. It is said that a long time ago, the evil "Pure one" (grass owl) king with a steel beak oppressed the owl people, and the guardian came forward at the critical moment to defeat the king and his minions, but the loser never gave up the idea of revenge. Sauron, looking forward to ancient legends, annoyed his brother Krud (Ryan Covanteng Ryan Kwanten) so much that he was pushed out of the tree by his brother. Two little guys who have not yet learned to fly freely fall to the dangerous ground. They avoid all kinds of beasts, but they can't avoid being captured by evil hunters. The brothers, along with other kinds of owls, were caught in the mysterious Holy Owl School, where they received rigorous training and learned different skills, and the long-silent war in the Owl Kingdom is about to be reignited. This film is based on Catherine Lasky's classic children's literature.
