Les Miserables is a musical written by French musical composers Claude Michel Schoenberg and Alan Alain Boublil, adapted from Victor Hugo's novel of the same name. Set against the background of the French Revolution, the story tells that Jean Valjean, the protagonist, was sentenced to a heavy sentence many years ago. After his parole, he planned to be a new man and change society, but encountered all kinds of difficulties. The show, which premiered at Palais des Sports in Paris, France, in 1980, was originally expected to run for eight weeks, but was extended for a total of 16 weeks and had to be removed because the venue schedule had been booked.
