In the summer of 1914, a single apartment in London. Ballerina Cerrilla Ambrose (Claire Bloom Claire Bloom) tries to kill herself by turning on the gas in her room. Fortunately, after getting drunk, her neighbor Carl Ferro (Charlie Chaplin Charles Chaplin) just came home to save her. When Cerrilla woke up, Calvero learned that she had the idea of committing suicide because she had rheumatism and could no longer dance. And Calvero used to be a great comedian. He took good care of Cerrilla and used his own comedy to dissuade her from committing suicide. Six months later, Cerrilla successfully stood up again and played an important role in a ballet. But Cerrilla fell in love with a composer, and Calvero could only silently bless them and perform his tearful comedy alone. The theme song of this film is produced by Chaplin himself. With its beautiful and moving melody, it won the 45th Academy Award in 1973, best original score (drama category).
