The Malcolm Family is a sitcom from Fox Broadcasting. It was originally created by Linwood Boomer and has won seven Emmys, one Grammy and seven Golden Globes nominations. The show began on January 9, 2000 and lasted six and a half years until the seventh season on May 14, 2006. The protagonist of the series is Ma Jin (Malcolm, Frankie Muniz), who is the third of the four brothers (five after the birth of Chi Ming in season 5), whose parents are the Shire (Hal, Brian Cranston) and Ruth (Lois, Jane Kaczmarek). The eldest son, Francis (Christopher Masterson), leaves home to study at the military academy, while Reese (Justin Bayfield), Ma Jin and Dewey (Eric Perl Sullivan) stay at home. Ma Jin ranks among the three brothers in the family, and the show is named after Malcolm (Malcolm in the Middle literally translated in the middle). In the early stage of the show, Ma Jin, as a talented teenager, focuses on how to deal with the strange life, and then gradually goes deeper and deeper.
