The surrealist series depicts the dating lives of contemporary young people, especially those in New York City, from a humorous and "naive" perspective. The so-called "surrealism" means that the show regards falling in love as a "life-and-death stakes" thing. The project is based on Simon Rich's best-selling book The Last Girlfriend On Earth, with Simon Rich acting as the show's creator.
