The story takes place in 1946, when the war is over and Ivan (John Savage John Savage) is released from a German POW camp and returns home, where everything has changed. Ivan has been thinking about his first lover Malia (Natasha Kinski Nastassja Kinski), but Malia already has a boyfriend el (Vincent Spano Vincent Spano). Ivan doesn't blame Maria, he just feels sad. One night, Ivan asked Maria to come out, and the two finally untied the knot and talked to each other. After that, Maria dumped Earl and entered the marriage hall hand in hand with Ivan. The sequelae of the war trauma made it impossible for Ivan to have sex with Maria, which made the newlyweds feel extremely depressed, but strangely enough, when Ivan came to Mrs. Vainic's bed (Anita Morris), he could do it again.
