In 1995, a series of strangulation occurred in Tokyo, five people were killed, the murderer without a trace, the case became a cold case. In 2017, when the case was long past the validity of the lawsuit, a man named Tseng Genzaki (also played by Ryuhiro Fujiwara) published a confession entitled "I am a murderer", claiming to be the murderer of a serial homicide 22 years ago and mocking the incompetence of the police. The move shocked the whole Japanese society, but the police were helpless in the face of the anger of the families of the victims. As the criminal policeman investigating the case, Mutomura Hang (Yingming Ito) has never given up hunting the real killer for many years. He is skeptical of Zeng Genqi's words, and a fierce cat-and-mouse game is launched between the two people.
