The London Mission (Mission:London), directed by Dmita Mitovsky, was released locally on April 16, selling 140000 tickets in 10 days, breaking the record for Avatar, which has so far mobilized a total of 350000 audiences to make it the highest-grossing local film in Bulgarian history. The film was written by Aleke Popov based on his original novel. The story takes place at the Bulgarian embassy in London, where officials have nothing to do but exchange diplomatic privileges for cigarettes and alcohol with local Bulgarian expatriates. However, after joining the European Union in 2007, the situation changed dramatically, and the president's wife wanted to invite Queen Elizabeth to a celebration dinner, so the new ambassador, Valadin, took office. The film, set in London, is full of David Bowie, Blur and the Sex Pistols music.
