In the fall of 1964, Oregon, USA. In order to earn money to complete his career, Glenn Holland, a composer with lofty ideals, got a job as a music teacher in a middle school. He had no choice but to do so, and the burden of family life forced him to face the reality. On his first day at school, the basic music students gave him an embarrassing downfall. When they play musical instruments, they are not only out of tune, but even the famous classical composer Bach has never heard of it. Holland's confidence was hit, and the headmistress, Jack Boo, repeatedly criticized him with kindness. When her husband encountered setbacks in his work, his wife, who was engaged in photography, patiently advised and comforted him; good friend PE teacher Bill Mestre also used his own experience since teaching to prove to Holland that it takes selfless love and sufficient time to teach students. Under Holland's careful cultivation, Gertrand, a white student who knew nothing about music, and Louis Ruth, a black student, learned the clarinet and drum respectively. Just when Holland was obsessed with teaching life, his son was born, but he was born with congenital deafness. This heavy blow made Huo.
