Adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name, it tells the story of a woman's Violet's pursuit of a perfect image, such as straightening and retouching her hair and taking care of it. But her handsome and seemingly ideal boyfriend refused to propose and finally confessed that she was living too well one day. After the two broke up, the frustrated Violet shaved off his long hair, which was regarded as a treasure, and from then on he retained the black man's natural small curly fluffy hair (nappy hair). He no longer cared too much about the outside world and began to live a comfortable and self-contained life.
