Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey Kevin Spacey) of the business elite is an out-and-out workaholic who often ignores family and affection. On the birthday of his daughter Rebecca (Marina Weisman Malina Weissman), he hurried to the pet store because he was late for work and bought a cat she liked, but was magically trapped inside a pet cat by the pet store owner (Christopher Walken Christopher Walken). Tom, trapped in a pet cat, shouted for help, but it was just a "meow" for humans who could not understand the cat language. Then Walken appeared in front of his cage and told him that he was a "cat whisperer", but Walken did not come to save him this time, just to make him think about why he had been turned into a cat. Desperate Spacey exclaimed, "I hate cats," but learned that the cat's life is short and is likely to be trapped here for the rest of his life, and the condition for returning to the prototype is to be a good husband and father. A series of ironic stories followed.
