Orange County (2002)

The story takes place in scenic Orange County, and the accidental death of a friend shocked Sean (Colin Hanks Colin Hanks), who loved surfing, because nothing so real and painful had ever happened in his world before. By accident, Sean dug up the novel "the neat Jacket" by writer Marcus (Kevin Klein Kevin Kline) in the sand, which revolutionized Sean, who decided to give up surfing and become a writer.
