Karen (Meryl Streep Meryl Streep) is a vain rich girl who leaves her native Denmark and marries East Africa Kenya in order to get the title of Baroness. However, the title of Baroness does not bring Karen a happy marriage life. Fortunately, in that vast land, Karen could often go out hunting and exploring, and she gradually fell in love with this magical land. In a hunting accident, Karen meets a young English aristocrat, Dennis (played by Robert Redford Robert Redford). After the break-up of her marriage and the departure of her husband, Karen took on the task of running the manor on her own. in the process of work, Karen gradually developed a deep friendship with the servants on the plantation, and her relationship with Dennis seemed to have made progress. However, fate did not make Karen plain sailing from then on. A fire forced her to sell the manor to ease her financial straits. later, the death of Dennis in a plane accident dealt a heavy blow to her. After the ordeal of life, Karen finally bid farewell to the land where she shed her youth and enthusiasm. The film was made at the 58th session of Oz in 1986.
