In 709, the spaceship piloted by the alien Caitan (James Caviezel) crashed in Norway, killing his companion, damaging the spacecraft and sinking to the bottom of the lake. Caitan has mastered the knowledge of the earth and the local language by virtue of the advanced machines he carries with him. While wandering in the forest, he meets the Viking Uflick (Jack Huston Jack Houston) and returns to the village. Ketan told the Vikings that he was looking for a "dragon", which was a monster on his ship that escaped when the ship crashed. At first, the Vikings thought Kaitan was a boastful liar, but as the villagers disappeared one by one, they discovered that the so-called "evil dragon" really existed.
