Eben (Joseph Joseph Cotten) is a painter who lives on his own diligence and hard work. However, that era was so depressed that Eben always lived on the brink of bankruptcy. One day, the painter accidentally met a girl named Jenny (Jennifer Jones Jennifer Jones). Eben drew a sketch of Jenny. To his surprise, the sketch was taken care of by the gallery owner and told him to draw some more of these pictures. After that, Eben and Jenny met on and off, and the painter used her as a model to create one work after another. with the passage of time, there was a wonderful bond between Eben and Jenny. As Jenny grew up, a portrait of Jenny painted by Eben was collected by the museum, and his life gradually improved. At the same time, however, Jenny disappeared.
