Philadelphia, USA, 1974. Jim Ellis, a college graduate, couldn't find any job because he was black. Watching the young children in the slums have nowhere to go because the public basketball court was torn down, Jim, who loved swimming, had an idea. With the help of his friend Elston, Jim rented an abandoned local swimming venue and opened a swimming club. Relying on his personal charm and amazing swimming skills, he soon gathered a group of warm-blooded poor children. But in one of Philadelphia's poorest neighborhoods, it's not easy to train a group of beginners with a mixture of dragons and snakes into superb swimmers. With contradictions in the team, limited training time and lack of funds, when everything was finally on the right track, the swimming pool was hung with demolition signs. However, with an undiscouraged heart, Jim decided to set up the first African-American swimming team in history and sign them up for the Intercontinental Swimming Championships. As the game approached, the racist wall once again stood in front of Jim and his team, but even in the face of the threat of breaking up the team and the resistance of the government, Jim took the swimming team through the difficulties. They will eventually prove that victory is certain as long as they do their best, both inside and outside the pool.
