The story of the film takes place in New York, where the director was born. The protagonist is a New York couple who "make small bags of heroin like a baker puts bread in an oven", but they live like ordinary people, go shopping at Christmas, prepare presents for their children, and so on. But the husband was suddenly arrested by the police, everything in the small family was broken, and the wife could only exchange her body for her husband's life. Ferrara once again puts forward some enlightenment to the "right to survive".
