Race to Space (2001)

Weir, a space scientist whose wife just died, took his 11-year-old son, Billy, to the institute for new research. For young Billy, his father was the kind of old-fashioned and boring man. What he wants is a colorful and exciting life. When the opportunity came, Billy got an invitation from Dr. Donnie to help NASA train chimpanzees into space for the first time. One of the chimpanzees, Mike, became the first chimpanzee to be sent into space under Billy's training. When all the training and plans are carried out step by step, success is in sight. One night, Billy inadvertently found a bad guy planning to sabotage the upcoming launch mission. Billy and Mike decided to join hands.
