Racing with the Moon (1984)

The story takes place during World War II, when Hooper (Sean Penn Sean Penn) and Nicky (Nicholas Cage Nicolas Cage) are good friends when they were students, and their friendship is very solid. By chance, Hooper meets Katie (Elizabeth McGovern Elizabeth McGovern), who works in a cinema, and Hooper falls in love with her deeply. In fact, Katie's mother works in a wealthy local family, where Katie lives with her mother, and Hooper and Nicky mistakenly think that Katie's family is the owner of the villa. Nicky's girlfriend is pregnant, Nicky needs $150 to help his girlfriend have an abortion, and Hooper needs money to buy a pair of shoes for Katie. The two planned to plan a scam, but failed in the end. In desperation, Katie borrowed money from her employer to solve Nicky's urgent needs.
