The front dance used to be prosperous as a coal mine producing area, but now the population is declining. The front dance branch line also decided to abolish the line and stop using it. Sato Yisong (Takakura Ken) is the stationmaster of Maowu station on the local branch line of Hokkaido. Yisong has to cut tickets alone every day, using small flags to direct trains into and out of the station, cleaning the interior of the station and other trivial work. Old colleague Shanpu Xianji visited the Guiwu station to persuade Yisong to work in the resort with him after retirement, but Yisong refused, and he unswervingly accompanied the railway with his life. As a result of sticking to his post, his daughter Snow, who died 17 years ago, and his wife Jingzhi, who died 2 years ago, can only die alone. Yisong is forced to endure the pain in his heart. One day, a little girl appeared, and then a little girl came to look for the lost doll. On a cold night, a young girl (Hiromo Ryoko) appeared, and Yisong suddenly remembered who she was.
