The story of the Red faction: the Origin will follow the background and character settings of the game: it has been 25 years since Alec Mason led the Martian colony to freedom, 12 years after his wife was killed and his daughter Lyra was kidnapped, and Alec has been a broken hero ever since. His only remaining son, Jake Mason, is now an officer in the red militia (Red Faction Militia), and his world was turned upside down when he discovered that his sister, who was kidnapped 12 years ago, is still alive. Even though new enemies flocked to Mars, Jake decided to look for his sister, but he found that Lyra was now a member of hostile forces, a cold-blooded warrior, vowing to destroy the Red Faction. Kate Vernon will play The Matriarch, the patriarch of the invaders.
