In 2050, the development of modern civilization and the surge of population have overwhelmed the earth, and the originally beautiful planet is no longer suitable for human habitation. In order to find a new place to live, scientists set their sights on Mars, which is most similar to Earth's environment. Over the past few decades, they have been sending unmanned spacecraft to Mars in an attempt to use modern technology to improve the relatively poor living conditions on Mars. However, when everything was beginning to bear fruit, the machine on Mars suddenly broke down and the plan to emigrate to Mars was stalled. The condition of the earth is becoming more and more worrying, and in order to fix the problem as soon as possible, an expedition made up of top researchers such as Kate Bowman (Kerry-Ann Moss Carrie-Anne Moss) and Robbie Garrell (Fangkimmer Val Kilmer) have been ordered to go to the red planet that humans have never set foot on. Their journey is doomed to be full of tribulations from the very beginning. The team members not only have to face the harsh alien environment, but their friendship and trust are also subject to a great test.
