Red wooden Pigeon is Moretti's first film to win at the international box office. The "Red" film is about a Communist Party politician and water polo player Mi Kilei, who is dragged to participate in a water polo match after losing his memory in a car accident, while the choices made by the protagonist in the course of the match, and the dialogue between the protagonist and others or even with himself, makes the film under the appearance of trying to reposition the Communist Party of Italy (reflecting the political identity crisis caused by the collapse of the Communist Party of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the late 1980s). It deconstructs many myths of communism, fascism, capitalism and even Catholic theocracy, and becomes a "fable" of political chaos in contemporary Italy. At the same time, there was a televised broadcast of the film "Doctor Zivago" by the swimming pool, and the best part of the film was even interrupted by the crowd. But when Zivago died suddenly in the square, the heroine who left unknowingly echoed the unreal girl in "Sweet Dream" and symbolized the passing and non-return of political ideals. Moretti's first two feature films, "self-sufficiency" and "Ecce Bombo", also succeeded in creating a "split" for him-Mikiri Yapisai.
