Mike (Matt Damon Matt Damon) is a sophomore in law, but he loses all his savings because of a gamble with casino owner Teddy (John Markovich John Malkovich). Comforted by his friend Knish (John Turturro John Turturro), Mike vows not to gamble from now on. However, he still showed his skill in the professor's card game and was surprised. When picking up his old friend Bug (Edward Norton Edward Norton) out of prison, Mike broke his oath and made a comeback. In order to help the bugs, he even delayed his internship in the mock court. After that, his girlfriend Joe found evidence of Mike's involvement in gambling and broke up with him, which made him very depressed. Mike, egged on by bugs, took part in the gamble one after another. Afterwards, I found that I had been set up by a bug and owed a lot of money. He found the bug, and the latter was forced to reveal the truth: it turned out that the bug was cornered by the fierce creditor. For the sake of friendship, he accepted the harsh terms of the creditor, but fell into a more difficult predicament.
