Running to the Sky (2019)
The 12-year-old boy Jieshan is a running genius, but his life is not going well. He is isolated by teachers and classmates at school. His parents are divorced, and he can only live with his drunk father. His small shoulders bear the burden of taking care of his family too early. The only thing he earnestly hopes for is to win the championship of the school running competition. For this goal, he runs all the way until he is exhausted. The film simply and sincerely depicts the growing difficulties of young people in Kyrgyzstan, which is regrettable.
