Ryuichi Sakamoto: Playing the Piano 2022 (2022)

On December 11, 2022, Sakamoto's piano solo concert will be broadcast all over the world. Two years ago, on Dec. 12, 2020, Sakamoto gave a piano solo concert without an audience in a studio in Tokyo, facing the world that was then wandering in the dark tunnel of COVID-19 's epidemic. However, this live broadcast did not leave any images archived. In the live broadcast on December 11 this year, we will once again witness the posture of "playing Ryuichi Sakamoto", which has not been seen for two years. The live broadcast on that day will be a pre-recorded video of the performance. The repertoire has been carefully arranged, only a few songs are included in the production, and a great deal of effort has been put into editing afterwards. Sakamoto said to himself, "I don't have enough strength to hold a live concert." Maybe it's the last time I play in this form. What can be done in the past is now more and more difficult to do. After accepting this "reality" and digesting it, Sakamoto stood on the "brand-new fact" and tried to explore his new initiative and enthusiasm.
