The story describes a strong-willed 17-year-old girl, Miranda Merchant (Emily Rudd), who returns to her beautiful hometown town (an island town similar to Nantucket Island) to live with her estranged mother Amelia (Maria Dizzia) after her father's death. There, she was involved in infighting and polygonal love among the local people, and had a lot of conflicts with her mother. But she soon realized that all conflicts on the island had the same background: the legendary dangerous sea monster-or "sea walker"-might be true, and she and her family had many secrets related to it. She is also associated with these mysterious creatures. Keenan Tracey plays the teenager TJ, the heir to one of the oldest Selk families in the area.
