Selfie (2019)

The selfie is a unique record in the case of 16-year-old David DavideBifolco, who was shot and killed by a gendarmerie in NeapolitanDistrictofTraiano, Treano. To learn about a neighborhood that is often portrayed as a slum and Camorra stronghold, and how David died, director Agostino Ferrente looked for David's friends and met with Pietro and Alessandro. In the preface to the film, he was heard asking in front of the camera, "tell me your friendship," which reveals his attitude towards this consistent documentary novel project. He asked the children to bring their cell phones and microphones and record their daily lives as a "selfie" movie, whether they were riding motorcycles, on the beach, playing with friends or in the toilet. In an era when self-dramatization often becomes a product, this is a perfect form. The result is an impressive collage, both visually and on the movie's soundtrack, about puberty; about your background that determines your future life.
