The Imperial Crossing Antarctic Expedition Endurance set off from London on August 1, 1914-1916. There are 28 members of the crew. The goal of the expedition is to cross the Antarctic continent on foot. As a matter of fact, it didn't work this time. In the course of the journey, the ice floe surrounded the "persistence", making it difficult to move. Shackleton and his crew had to abandon ship and move to the ice floe, which sank to the bottom of the sea 10 months later in November 1915. At this point, Shackleton had only one wish: to bring back many of the crew alive. Over the next five months, 28 of them boarded a huge ice floe that broke up over time and slowly became smaller. On April 9, 1916, the ice floe broke completely and three lifeboats from the persistent were quickly pushed out to sea. After seven days and nights of danger at sea, they landed on the uninhabited Elephant Island. Instead of waiting to die, Shackleton and five others boarded the largest lifeboat and traveled about 800 miles to South Georgia, an epic voyage that lasted 16 days in extremely harsh seas. Go.
