In an obscure bistro in Paris, Charlie Kohler, a melancholy and lonely piano accompanist (played by Charles Aznaf Charles Aznavour). His life is simple and monotonous The enthusiastic tavern waitress Lena (Mary Dubois Marie Dubois) is fascinated by Charlie's talent and falls in love with him.
