The film is adapted from French-born Polish poet and writer Edward Stahula (Edward Stachura;, August 18, 1937-July 24, 1979) and published in 1971 novel "the axe Man or the Winter Forest Man" (Siekierezada albo zima le Forest nych ludzi). The sensitive young poet Janek can no longer accept duplicity and hypocrisy and can no longer find his place in the world. He wanted to enrich his life in a place that was fundamentally different from the world he knew, so he applied for a forestry job, carried all his possessions in a bag behind him, and worked as a temporary winter lumberjack in the mountains. The air in the forest farm was fresh, and although the loggers had different personalities, they were different from the city people, and he soon made friends with them. He also increasingly believes that "apple branches will blossom in the pure land and in the heart" (his philosophy of life). Although he was awakened every night by the nightmare of love trauma, he hoped that he might find what he expected in this simple working circle until it happened.
