Richard Dreyfuss plays Jack, a psychiatrist who has a knack for autistic children. When he is at a low ebb in his career and marriage, he is invited to help investigate a bizarre murder. A couple died of blood, with only two witnesses, an autistic nine-year-old son and an extremely defensive 18-year-old daughter. Jack gradually established a relationship with the boy with his unique treatment, and the case began to reveal its clues, only to bring them to the brink of death.
