The story takes place in a small village in Romania in September 1953. Lanku (Alexandru Potosien Alexandru Potocean) and Mara (Meda Victor) are about to have their grand wedding. The couple are so in love that they can't seem to find a better way to convey their feelings except for sex and marriage. However, at this time of great joy, there was the news of the death of dictator Stalin, and in order to pay tribute to him, Lanku and Mara were told that they had to cancel the wedding. For Lanku and Mara, how can the death of an insignificant person stop their love?
