When Alan Bauer (Tom Hanks Tom Hanks) was a child, he saw the legendary mermaid in the waves of Cape Cod, and the experience was deeply rooted in his mind. Twenty years later, Allen has grown into a handsome guy, he is busy all day, but true love never comes. One day, Allen returned to Cape Cod and accidentally fell into the water. Just in time of crisis, a beautiful mermaid (Daryl Hannah Daryl Hannah) appears and saves his life. Not long after, the mermaid hid her tail and came to New York to look for Allen, and the two fell in love. A modern urban legend love begins here, but in this materialistic city, where will their love go?
